If you are in the market for a new security system you’ve no doubt seen countless ads by ADT, Broadview and the like.

What they don’t tell you is that you never actually OWN the system. With very little upfront costs for parts and installation the bulk of the costs you pay go to the monthly maintenance service and contracts. These contracts can get extremely expensive.
